giving back
5% of our sales are donated to the following organizations that work in ecological conservation, land stewardship, and food security:
Astoria Food Pantry
A grassroots volunteer group of neighbors based in Astoria, providing direct aid in the form of free groceries, meals, clothes, books, COVID tests, PPE, and more. They also share their community center space with other local projects that engage in direct aid, activism, and community services. Monetary donations primarily pay for food and diapers that are purchased for the community.
Tribal Alliance for Pollinators
A Native-led non-profit that provides training and technical support for tribes throughout North America to restore native plants to their lands in order to support pollinators and preserve cultural traditions. TAP is based in Oklahoma and a project of the Learning Center at the Euchee Butterfly Farm. They are supported by a coalition of seven tribal partners—Chickasaw, Seminole, Citizen Potawatomi, Muscogee Creek, Osage, Eastern Shawnee, and Miami Nations.
An Indigenous women-led land trust dedicated to purchasing, preserving, and protecting sacred ancestral lands on Long Island. They protect and steward lands of ecological and cultural significance. Their board is composed of members of the Shinnecock Nation. You can read more about their mission and current projects on their website.
